1. Introduction

Welcome to The Future Learning Institute (FLI). These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, educational services, and enrollment in our IGCSE, AS Level, and A-Level programs. By accessing our website or enrolling in our courses, you agree to be bound by these terms.

FLI operates in Namibia and South Africa (Walvis Bay, Windhoek, and Cape Town - Durbanville) and provides British International High School qualifications through self-paced learning and in-person assessments.

2. Enrollment and Registration

2.1 Eligibility

Students of all ages may enroll in FLI programs. For students under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must complete the enrollment process and accept these terms on their behalf.

2.2 Enrollment Process

Enrollment can be completed online through our website. Students may enroll at any time during the year and select as few or as many subjects as desired. Upon enrollment, students will receive access to course materials and learning platforms within 3 business days.

2.3 Account Security

Students are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and account information. Any activities conducted through a student's account are their responsibility.

3. Fees and Payment

3.1 Tuition Fees

Course fees vary by subject and level. All fees are clearly stated on our website and during the enrollment process. Fees are subject to change, but enrolled students will be notified of any increases with advance notice.

3.2 Payment Terms

Payment is required at the time of enrollment unless alternative payment arrangements have been agreed upon in writing. We accept various payment methods including bank transfer, credit card, and other approved methods.

3.3 Refund Policy

Refunds may be requested within 14 days of enrollment if no course materials have been accessed. After this period, fees are non-refundable. Examination fees paid to external examination boards are non-refundable once registration has been submitted.

4. Academic Policies

4.1 Course Duration

Most courses are designed to be completed within 12 months. However, as a self-directed learning institution, students may progress at their own pace within reason. Extensions may be granted upon request.

4.2 Assessments and Examinations

Students are required to complete coursework, assignments, and sit for formal examinations as per the curriculum requirements. FLI facilitates examination registration with Cambridge International Examinations and other recognized examination boards.

4.3 Academic Integrity

Students must maintain academic integrity in all coursework and examinations. Plagiarism, cheating, or any form of academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary action, including possible expulsion without refund.

4.4 Support Services

FLI provides access to Subject Matter Experts for academic support. Students may book consultations as needed. Response times for email queries are typically within 48 hours during business days.

5. Psychometrics Evaluation

FLI offers optional psychometrics evaluation services to help students identify their strengths and receive personalized subject recommendations. The assessment takes 45-60 minutes to complete online, with results provided within 3 business days.

Psychometrics results are advisory in nature and do not guarantee academic success. Students and parents should use these results as guidance alongside other factors when making educational decisions.

6. Intellectual Property

All course materials, content, videos, documents, and resources provided by FLI are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Students are granted a limited, non-transferable license to access and use these materials solely for personal educational purposes.

Students may not reproduce, distribute, modify, display, or create derivative works from FLI materials without express written permission.

7. Technology and Platform Use

7.1 System Requirements

Students are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate technology and internet connectivity to access course materials. Minimum requirements include a computer or tablet, internet connection, and modern web browser.

7.2 Platform Availability

While we strive for 99% uptime, FLI does not guarantee uninterrupted access to online platforms. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible.

7.3 Prohibited Use

Students may not use FLI platforms to transmit harmful content, engage in hacking or unauthorized access attempts, or conduct any illegal activities.

8. Liability and Disclaimers

FLI provides educational services to the best of our ability but cannot guarantee specific academic outcomes or examination results. Student success depends on individual effort, dedication, and circumstances beyond our control.

FLI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.

Our total liability for any claims related to our services shall not exceed the amount paid by the student for the specific course in question.

9. Data Protection

FLI collects and processes personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws including GDPR where applicable. For detailed information about data collection, use, and protection, please review our Privacy Policy.

Student records, including academic performance data, are maintained securely and confidentially.

10. Termination

10.1 By Student

Students may withdraw from courses at any time by providing written notice. Refunds will be processed according to our refund policy outlined in Section 3.3.

10.2 By FLI

FLI reserves the right to terminate a student's enrollment for breach of these terms, academic dishonesty, non-payment, or behavior that disrupts the learning environment. In such cases, fees may be forfeited.

11. Changes to Terms

FLI reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with the updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. Material changes will be communicated to enrolled students via email.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Namibia and South Africa, depending on the location of service delivery. Any disputes shall be resolved through good faith negotiation, mediation, or in the courts of the relevant jurisdiction.
